Story about this painting:

Mount Tai has been revered since ancient times as the “Foremost of the Five Sacred Mountains,” symbolizing sublimity, endurance, and the harmony between heaven and humanity in traditional culture.
In autumn, Mount Tai is adorned with layers of vibrant foliage, blending the mountain’s timeless grandeur with the transient beauty of the changing seasons. This scene embodies the cyclical rhythm and balance of nature.

Autumn in Chinese art often carries a dual meaning—the solemnity of fading life and the abundance of harvest. It evokes both the quiet melancholy of withering nature and the radiant splendor of ripened beauty. Through the depiction of autumn, the artist subtly alludes to the reflection and elevation that accompany each stage of life.

The painting captures the rugged strength of Mount Tai’s ancient rocks and the brilliant glow of autumnal red leaves, expressing a pursuit of “vitality and spirit” (Qi Yun Sheng Dong)—a core aesthetic ideal in Chinese art.
